Advancing Women is a division of The May Group.

Advancing Women is a members-only website designed to support the creation of ‘workplaces that work’ for women. Advancing Women was inspired by Deborah May and created in collaboration with Michelle Hallinan and Elizabeth Ure - three energetic women driven by a common vision and heaps of passion.

Its purpose is help women to:

• amplify their voices and achieve their full potential
• increase their capacity to influence
• harness the value of their contribution
• increase their numbers in senior positions.

It provides:

• accessible and useful resources, training and tools to support women in the workplace
• opportunities to exchange information, share experiences, build networks and accelerate organisational learning.

Deborah May

Deborah May, the Managing Director of The May Group, is a Fulbright Scholar with a Masters in Business Administration from the Simmons School of Management the only business school in the world specifically designed for women.

Deborah has been working to advance women for more than 10 years.

Deborah developed Advancing Women in response to the sad reality that senior women representation in Australian corporations has declined over the last few years.

The power of Advancing Women lies in its ability to leverage not only Deborah’s expertise and skills but that of other experienced and committed diversity practitioners.

Deborah's vision is to create inclusive workplaces and to provide women with the skills, networks and career development they need to feel encouraged, empowered and emboldened to assume the leadership positions they deserve at work and in their communities.

Michelle Hallinan

Michelle is the Operations Manager for The May Group.

Michelle is an artist and former teacher. She is Advancing Women's organisational queen and around the office is known as the 'Manager of Order and Beauty'. Michelle is the 'go to - can do' person you call if you have any questions about our services and products.

Elizabeth Ure

Elizabeth is the Systems Creator and Web Developer for Advancing Women and The May Group. She is the web whiz who built the Advancing Women software. While she has now moved on to other projects, she is still an integral part of the Advancing Women story.

Janine Monty

Neen is a content writer for Advancing Women. Feel free to get in touch with her about topics you'd like to see covered on Advancing Women. Neen also has many years of experience in web design and programming and therefore she also maintains the ongoing technical development and maintenance of the website. She also manages online marketing and social media and is the general all around web geek.
